WHY? SAMHSA funded system of care communities are required to engage stakeholders in their national and local evaluation activities .This event will help your system of care community move to the leading edge of culturally and linguistically competent family and youth leadership in national and local system of care evaluation activities.. Consider the following excerpts taken from the Request for Application No. SM-08-004:
“…family partnerships will occur and be demonstrated in planning, implementing and evaluating the initiative”
“…if there is a CMHS-funded Statewide Family Network grantee in your State . Involve them in the initiative (Tribes are excluded from this requirement.)”
“…provide financial support to sustain the family organizations as a means to ensure family involvement in the system of care throughout the duration of the initiative and beyond the Federal funding period”
“…support …to enable family members and family organizations to participate in activates related to the development, implementation, evaluation and sustainability of the system of care”
Trainers will be from the National Federation and the National Evaluation Team. We will focus on practical strategies related to engaging stakeholders, families and youth in national and local evaluation activities; examination of evaluation processes with an eye on race, culture and ethnicity in order to help build cultural and linguistic competency; and examination of health disparities and how your data can inform strategies toward their elimination.
