Goal: To advance the capacity of individuals and communities transforming their children’s mental health services, supports and systems to be family-driven
Intended Audience: Leadership of partners, collaborators, providers, families and others with a stake in children’s mental health systems of care; maximum number of participants is 30
Trainers: One or two Certified National Federation Trainers who meet criteria congruent with Federation values and follow the Federation’s Code of Conduct.
Length of Time: This is a one and a half day event with 9 hours available for training.
When & Where: This training is provided in a facility provided by you in your community, with two months notice to schedule the best trainers.
Training Facility Needs:
Cost: Inclusive of two trainers, their travel, and materials, our fees are very reasonable.
Sample Agenda: To be adapted according to the participants’ experience and the needs and the goals of the community.
DAY 1
Introductions and Overview : Ice breaker activity and agenda overview.
Using the Personal Planning Guide: Become familiar with this tool which will be used throughout the training and beyond.
The Evolution of Family Involvement: Make real life connections to the history of family involvement.
Definition of Family-Driven Care: Explore the current working definition and relate it to experiences in the community.
Continuum of Family Involvement: Explore various community influences on “access and choice†for families.
DAY 2
Moving from Rhetoric to Reality: Apply learning to actions toward transformation.
Exploring Tough Questions: Interact with participants to address the tough questions which have arisen.
