What we do

Training

The National Federation Training Program offers high quality curricula which have been developed through thorough and inclusive processes with continuous quality improvement feedback loops at every step. Our trainings are comprehensive, outcome-focused and will be tailored to your community’s requests.  Attention has been paid to all current details and requirements, as well as to cultural competence.

Our certified trainers have been chosen because they are experienced family leaders from across the country.  They have great understanding of the Systems of Care philosophy and are passionate about promoting and supporting advances in the work. Their certification comes after participating in significant preparation and they are held accountable to rigorous standards.

The World of Evaluation…
Goal: To prepare families and youth to use program and system level evaluation for effective advocacy through understanding evaluation (Course 1), working in evaluation (Course 2), and leading evaluation (Course 3).
These are three consecutive short courses for families and youth approaching evaluation competencies through the perspectives of the youth and families engaged in programmatic quality and system transformation. Participants engage in practical exercises resulting in immediately applicable skills and knowledge. The succession of courses allows family members and youth to choose their own degree of involvement and access related skills by participating in 1, 2 or all 3 of the courses.
