The president, on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, signed his 23 Executive Actions on what needs to be done to strengthen gun control laws and reduce gun violence in America, as well as address the need for improved mental health services in America for youth and children. This document goes into detail that plan.

A fact sheet about the usage of the words promotion and prevention:

  • Promotion means doing what we can to improve one’s mental health, just as we do certain things to improve our physical health.
  • Prevention means doing what we can to prevent certain mental disorders from developing, while keeping others from getting worse.
