50 Years Ago Today

Fifty years ago, on February 5, 1963, President John F. Kennedy sent a special message to Congress about the state of mental health. His statement led to meaningful change in the way Americans view mental health care. Although this act took us a long way in understanding mental health, we still have a ways to go before we remove the stigma and discrimination and make mental health a permanent part of the national dialogue.
